I am always a bit sad to see October go. Its probably my favorite month of the year. Usually its the perfect temperature and the leaves are usually a beatiful shade of orange and red. Its perfect.
Its also the height and end of marching season. I hate to admit it, but I sort of do miss the marching band. I am not going to lie and say I don't. Ok, I really don't miss marching. I really miss the social aspect of it all.
October has brought alot of good things to the table for me. First off all, I have recently gotten into two amazing bands: DragonForce and Velvet Revolver. I highly reccommend them to others. Also, on Sunday, the 28th, Guitar Hero 3: The Legends of Rock was released. Monday, October 29th, I had beat the game on hard. It kicked by ass. But it was worth it. To this date, no one except Slash has beaten me in an in game guitar duel, not even Lou, the final boss.
Today, however is the day I have been waiting for since August. October 1st is when they originally wanted to release it. Their record company made them push it back to the 16th. Then again they forced them to push it back until today, October 30th. Thats right!
Its "Avenged Sevenfold", the fourth studio album of Avenged Sevenfold. I am still waiting for my copy to come in the mail, but I know it will be amazing. I reccommend it to others, even t hough I've only heard "Critical Acclaim", "Almost Easy", "Scream", and "Afterlife".
Tomorrow is Halloween. I love this holiday!! I can act normal and no one bats an eye. This year, my costume is Synyster Gates. Pics will be up soon, along with my Washburn.
Aside from that, I sign out to go do some Philosophy homework....yay

What a wonderful world....yeah right
So, alot of people ask me "How's Slippery Rock?" My reply "I love it up there." I truly do, and yet some people ask me why I still come home on Friday nights. No, its not because of laundry. I am fully capable of doing my own laundry, but since I come home, might as well have my mom do it. When you get down to it, the reason I come home is mainly because of Ray, Bobby, Eric, TT, and Josh. These are some of my closest friends. I can't bear to leave them without good ol' me.
Its also more than that. The bed here at SRU is comfortable.......to an extent. Sleeping in my own bed is so much more comfortable. Mainly though, its because of my friends.
But today is September 11th. Its been 6 years since the attack. People stop and reflect about the day. People still are bothered by it. Not me. Maybe because I am apathetic. Maybe because it didn't affect me directly. But my reasoning is this: Its been 6 years. I feel we've avenged the fallen sevenfold (anyone get the band refrence?). Its time to get your head out of the past and live for today and the future. Those who dwell in the past are damned to repeat it. If I still was terribly shaken by my father's death 6 years after it, I wouldn't be writing this blog because there is a good chance I woul dhave had a breakdown and died. I understand that people were killed by terrorists, but you know people, you don't understand that people in this country are killed everyday be domestic terrorists and people of this country.
Thats all I really have for right now, really. I'll leave you with the lyrics to the new Avenged Sevenfold song, Critical Acclaim. It features the Rev singing in some spots. But I'm leaving it not because I am an A7X fanatic and want to spread the joys of sevenfold, but because of the content of the song. I's my profile song. I invite you to copy these lyrics, go to my profile, pause the MP3 player that plays Scorpions, Metallica, and A7X and play the profile song and read along with these lyrics. The call is yours, but it personally brought up some good points to me.
Critical Acclaim
Avenged Sevenfold's new song from Avenged Sevenfold
Shh, Be quiet, you might piss somebody off
Like me motherfucker, you've been at it for too long
While you feed off all this insecurity
You stand in front of me and bite the hand that feeds
(Self-righteousness is wearing thin)
Lies inside your head your bestfriend
(I'll bleed but not for fellow man)
Broken glass, your fake reflection
Telling them its all for something real
Dont forsake the words you speak
You've gone too far, acclaim
So how does it feel to know that someones kid in the heart of america
Has blood on their hands, fighting to defend your rights
So you can maintain the lifestyle that insults this family's existance
Well, where I'm from we have a special salute we wave high in the air
Towards all those pompous asses who spend their days pointing fingers
Fuck you
Shh Be quiet, you might piss somebody off
Like the heartbeat of this country when antagonized too long
I'll be damned if you count me in
As part of your generous hypocracy collected in a maze
(Tabloid gossip, we want less real)
There's no need for us to bury you
(Selfish agenda, once again)
Right this way, deter your own grave
Telling them its all for something real
Dont forsake the words you speak
You've gone too far, acclaim
All the way from the east to the west
We've got this high society looking down on this very foundation
Constantly reminding us that our actions are the cause of all their problems
Pointing the fingers in every direction
Blaming their own nation for who wins elections
They've never contributed a fucking thing to the country they love to criticize
Excuse the obscene, ignore the untrue
Depictions we see, try and get through
And many mistakes cant hurt
I'm not the last but I sure ain't the first
Shh, Be quiet, you might piss somebody off
(Self-righteousness is wearing thin)
Lies inside your head your bestfriend
(I'll bleed but not for fellow man)
Broken glass, your fake reflection
Telling them its all for something real
